Moira Replan

On Monday we took a trip to meet Graham Knight at Moira Replan to have a look at the archive of local photos and maps that’s held there. We took a look at the large, complex maps tracing the different coal seams and some of the before and after shots of the landscape as it was 30 years ago and how it is now – after 25 years of the National Forest.

We even found a picture of the Pig on the Wall –  a tradition we’d been told by people at Moira Canal festival back in May – about how pigs were put on walls to watch the annual gala parade go by in Moira.

Many thanks to Graham.
