Taking Shape

After a group visit to the Timber Festival site we collectively shaped an idea for a built structure to sit between 2 beautiful oaks. Inspired by mushroom gills we imagined a space to present and project the digital animation we were making with Claire – our circular design became known affectionately as the ‘hinged henge’.

Will worked the ideas up into some beautiful detailed drawings and over two weekends in June we began making and testing the build of plywood gills and recycled scaff in Moira Replan carpark.

Art technicians Jeff Maker and Jim Brouwer joined us to work out the details of the projection – and Jeff built an elegant circular screen from a second hand trampoline base – our portal into The Underneath.
