Sunday at Timber

We started the day with glorious sunshine and a wonderful performance by Gresley Colliery Band! Next up was Possibility Thinking workshop with Think FC, then talks by our favourite photographer David Severn on Workers’ Play Time: Music, Dance & Industry and then How Bats are Like Elephants with Joe Kirkwood; followed by songs and sing-a-longs with Melody Blue choir; then poetry with Dawn Jutton the Poet Laureate for Staffordshire; next up Wrenne with her Inter-planetary performance!, then pressing issues + groovy beats with RAVE-ALUTION; finishing our day with acoustic songs was Charlotte Bettson, award winning singer from up the road in Swadlincote.

We rounded off our festival with an installation, The Sound of the Stage, a collaboration in sound and light between YLC’s Kris Kirkwood and Alfie Ropson – a beautiful way to end the weekend.

Many thanks to our funders this year. The Stage of Possibility project was made possible with support from Arts Council England, The Heritage Fund, Community Lottery Fund, Derbyshire County Council, The National Forest and East Midlands Airport Community Fund.
